Our History and Expertise.
Founded in 1965 as Irrigation St. Thomas, MegaDome’s parent company, Harnois, began its journey by specializing in irrigation systems and advanced agricultural equipment. Quickly recognized for its technical expertise and customer focus, the company diversified in 1968 by entering the greenhouse manufacturing sector, a move that would shape its identity for decades to come.
By 1971, under the visionary leadership of Rolland and Yves Harnois, the company made a significant breakthrough by designing Quebec’s very first gutter-connected greenhouse complex. This achievement marked the beginning of a long tradition of innovation, with Harnois setting new industry standards throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
The introduction of circulation tubes for improved heating and natural ventilation tunnels not only modernized greenhouse construction but also positioned Harnois as a market leader in Canada. Our reputation for quality and ingenuity continued to grow. In 1982, Harnois became the first company in North America to implement oval tubes in greenhouse manufacturing—a technical advancement that enhanced structural durability and efficiency.
